Grow at Home Workshop & Plant Pick Up
Join us at the farm for this series on growing a bountiful summer garden at home 🌱☀️
We will start by selecting your plants to take home!! Then, stay for a workshop on how to plant and care for your new seedlings, how to manage growing in the ground or in containers, and how to deal with pests and diseases throughout the summer. We’ll give you all the information you need for a successful summer garden!
We are a non-profit education farm. All donations are used to provide educational expereinces for the comnuity and maintain the farm. We ask that you donate $25-$50 (or as much as you are able to given circumstances) to participate in this program. The workshop is optional and seedlings pick up will follow the workshop!
Healthy Hydration
Learn about the benefits of replacing sugary drinks with refreshing, herbal concontions and take home some plants and recipes to share with friends!
Family friends - all ages welcome.
Recommended donations on a scale ranging $10-25 per person. All donations are used to help host these workshops and maintain the community farm.

Come learn how to build with Cob! Cob is a natural building material made from subsoil, water, and other fibrous organic materials. We will be partnering with a local organization to instal a beautiful bench at the farm. Join us for this hands-on learning experience with expert builders.

Workshop: Growing Peppers
What could be more flavorful than a bountiful harvest of ripe, delicious peppers from your garden?
Whether you prefer sweet or spicy peppers or anything in between, there is a variety that will work for you. Learn how to select, plant, care for, and harvest them. You can look forward to a flavorful summer!
Please join us at the farm on Saturday, May 25th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for a talk about growing peppers.

Play Date at the Farm
Bring your little ones to explore our urban farm in San Jose. All kiddos (0-3 years old) are invited to enjoy an hour outside with our chickens, worms, flowers, and plants. This event will be a informal gathering of families who are intersted in connecting their babies with nauture and other families.

San Jose Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
The San Jose Garden Club (www.sanjosegardenclub.com) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization, whose mission is to educate its members and local community in promoting gardening, landscape design, and personal food production with a focus on conservation and civic beautification that has been supporting such organizations as La Mesa Verde Garden Project, Second Harvest, Loaves and Fishes Kitchen Garden, Sempervirens Fund (Big Basin Recovery) and Garden2Table for over 50 years! At the sale will be a wonderful selection of flowers, vegetables and succulents all grown and donated by club members. Wonderful whimsical garden art and other garden accessories will be in the boutique! All at very reasonable prices!
Growing Berries Workshop
In partnership with UC Master Gardeners, Santa Clara county, we will be hosting a workshop on how to grow berries. There's increasing demand for berries with their health benefits and almost year round availability. Join us for a talk about berries. We'll be covering strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Learn how to select, plant, care for, and harvest them. You can look forward to a sweet summer!

Join us at the farm for this 3 part series on growing a bountiful summer garden at home 🌱☀️

Saturday, Feb 17th
Saturday, April 6th
Saturday, May 4th
Time: 10:30 am -12 pm
First class: we will learn how to select the best seed varieties for our region, how to sow seeds, and how to deal with problems in germination. We will then work together to sow seeds in our greenhouse. These plants will be ready for pickup in the final class of the series in May.
Second class: we will learn the pros and cons of different growing practices, how to prepare garden beds and containers, fertilization and water requirements, and how to step up seedlings. We will then work together to step up the plants that we sowed last month.
Third class: we will start by selecting your plants to take home!! Then, stay for a workshop on how to plant and care for your new seedlings, how to manage growing in the ground or in containers, and how to deal with pests and diseases throughout the summer. We’ll give you all the information you need for a successful summer garden!

Come and join us at the farm for a community potluck and other activities! Bring a dish, dessert, or drinks to share. We will end our volunteer day early to spend some quality time connecting with one another.

ABCs of Farming (Spring)
Join us this spring for a fun farming adventure! Open to children ages 4-10 and their families, this 6-week program is an opportunity to learn and grow through gardening. We will dig into the soil, sow seeds, observe insects and other critters, and enjoy the taste of fresh fruits and vegetables that we plant and harvest. We hope you’ll join us in learning about sustainable farming while engaging our natural curiosity and wonder.
Dates: March 6, 13, 20 and April 10, 17, 24 (each Wednesday)
Time: 3:30 - 5:00 pm
We are a non-profit farm offering inclusive and educational expereinces. We ask that folks donate $30-$50+ (or what people can afford) in order to participate in the program.

Wood Working Workshop
Join us for this 3 part workshop series! Participants will learn how to transform scrap wood into functional beautiful garden beds/ tool boxes. Lead by Henry Phan, this workshop will take place at the farm for 3 hours sessions.

Participants will bring home the items made from class.

Join us for a fun and educational cooking experience in the garden. We will be harvesting vegetables and herbs grown on the farm to prep and enjoy. We are excited to see you there.

Friendsgiving
Join us with a meal among friends! Bring a friend and a dish (drink or dessert) to share. We will be sitting outside in the garden together to connect and enjoy eachothers company. All are welcome! We encourage you to share with your neighbor, colleagues, family and friends, the more the merrier.
No sign up is required. Any donations recieved will kick start our GivingTuesday campaign (our biggest fundraiserday of the year).

Bee Workshop 🐝
Join us for a 1-hour workshop all about our local bees! One of our local beekeepers will be discussing:
the importance of bees to our food, gardens, and nature
the current status of bees
fun facts about our hard working bee friends
Classes are donation based. All proceeds go toward supporting the programs & activities of our non profit farm.
There will also be local San Jose honey for sale to anyone who is interested.

We are drafting our Strategic Plan for the farm over the next 3-5 years and need YOUR input. Our community is the heart and soul of our organization and we want to ensure that everyone has say in how we grow into the future.
Our team has outlined 3 draft strategic priorities:
Community-Belonging: We will continue to foster connections by providing access and a sense of belonging as a safe and healing place where people and plants grow.
Education & Innovation: We will cultivate, strengthen, and expand our programs on the farm and in the greater community by focusing on curriculum development and partnerships that align with our mission while embracing innovation.
Longevity: We will build the foundation for our success by pursuing site expansion, broadening our fund development capacity, strengthening internal communications, and creating a talent pipeline that reflects and uplifts the diverse community we serve.
We will be hosting virtual and in person listen sessions to review and discuss these goals. We welcome everyone to participate!

ABCs of Farming: Our Neighborhood Farm (Fall Session Start)
Join us this fall for a fun farming adventure! Open to children ages 4-10 and their families, this 6-week program is an opportunity to learn how urban farming strengthens communities. Classes will be held every Wednesday Sept 27-Nov 1. Participation is free with a suggested donation of $50 per child.

Autumn Equinox Sound Healing
Join us as we honor the turning of seasons from summer to fall! Lay back in the heart of the farm, enjoy the soothing sounds of Tibetan singing bowls, and settle in for an evening of calm and inward connection as guided by meditation teacher Alejandro Ian Rivas.
Alejandro brings decades of cultivating wellness in San Jose and beyond through offering the practices of yoga, meditation, reiki, and qigong. He has generously offered this sound bath as a gift, so 100% of donations will benefit the farm.
Please bring a blanket or yoga mat to lie on, along with plenty of warm layers as the earth will cool with the sunset. Those who wish to sit upright can lean against the squash planter boxes or settle into a provided chair. Registration is appreciated, but not necessary. See you there, in community!

The chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a domesticated junglefowl species, with attributes of wild species that are originally from Southeastern Asia.
Yes your cuddelly backyard chicken is not just a pet but a social animal with certain needs.
Our class covers everything you need to know about raising back yard chickens, basic needs, diet, coops, breeds, equipment, common ailments, breeds, and much, much more!
For the most part a general rule is if you can have an outside cat...you can have a small flock of chickens.
$30 suggested donation.
Grow at Home Workshop & Plant Pick Up
Starting a garden at home can often be a daunting task! We are here to make that process a little smoother. Each season, we plant extra so people can grow their own gardens at home. Through this program, we provide the plants, seeds, and education so families can replicate the process from the farm at home. We will provide you all of the tips and tricks to successfully grow abundance, no matter the size of your yard, patio, or balcony through our Grow At Home Workshop and Plant Pick Up. We are here to support you every step of the way!
Art in the Garden: Pressed Flower Bookmarks
Flowers have a delicate beauty that is best appreciated up close. In this class we’ll learn how to press flowers for crafting and use them to create bookmarks and cards.
Community Potluck & Art Show
Come meet and hang out with fellow community members through a delicious potluck and entertaining art show. Bring your friends, family, colleagues, classmates, and neighbors and a dish or drinks to share!
